Dr. Richard Aboud

Dr. Aboud is the Group Medical Director at the Irish Medical Clinic. He is a Graduate of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI 1994). He holds a membership to the Irish College of General Practitioners and The Faculty of Sports and Exercise Medicine at RCSI, a masters degree in human physiology (University College Dublin), Diplomas in Obstetrics and Womens Health, Child Health and Sports Medicine. He is a Clinical Trainer in General Practice at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. Dr. Aboud is an experienced Specialist Family Doctor and GP in practice since 1999.

Dr. Saoussen Sayhi-Kouteich has commenced practice at the Irish Medical Clinic. Dr Saoussen is a Consultant Gynecologist and Obstetrician who specialises in infertility (diagnosis & treatment), Pre-pregnancy care, Menopause, Sexual Health, Menstrual Disorders, Cervical Screening, Poly-cystic Ovaries and Endometriosis. She is a graduate of the University Paris XIII and also a member of the Board of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Université de Rouen. Dr. Sevdalina Velizarova

Dr. Sevdalina Velizarova is a highly qualified physician with 17 years of experience in Internal Medicine.
She has graduated her primary Medical education from the Medical University of Varna, Bulgaria in 1997 and completed postgraduate studies, becoming Major in Internal Medicine at the Medical University of Sofia later on in 2003.
In the meantime, she has gained 5 years of professional experience in Cardiology Department in the Multi Profile National Transport Hospital in Bulgaria, before moving to Dubai and joining Cedar’s Jebel Ali International Hospital in 2004.
Her main interest is Cardiology; however, she has great experience in dealing with all aspects of Internal Medicine, especially diagnosis and treatment of hypertension, diabetes and metabolic syndromes. She is specializing in functional diagnostics in heart diseases – stress tests and echocardiography.
She also has a vast experience in Emergency Medicine, especially cardiac cases.
Dr. Sevdalina is a member of the Bulgarian Society of Cardiology, European Society of Cardiology, European Society of Imaging Diagnostics and she is regularly attending various congresses & training seminars in her capacity as a member.

Consultant Geriatrician

Professor Power is a Consultant in Geriatric Medicine at the Mater Misericordiae Hospital, Dublin and he is also the Medical Director of St Mary’s Hospital, Phoenix Park, Dublin. A graduate of medicine in UCD, he has a Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians in Ireland, an MD from UCD, a Diploma in Management for Medical Doctors jointly awarded by the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) and the Irish Management Institute.

In addition he is UCD’s Intern Network Coordinator and Director of Postgraduate Medical Education.

He is a member of the British Geriatrics Society, the Irish Gerontological Society, the Irish Medical Organisation, and the Royal Society of Medicine. His special interests include Dementia, Health Service Planning and Medical Ethics.

Professor Sean Gaine

Consultant Respiratory Physician

MB, PhD, FRCPI

Professor Gaine is a Consultant Respiratory Physician at the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital in Dublin. He is a member of the American Thoracic Society, the International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation and the European Respiratory Society. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians. He has authored over 50 publications. His original scientific work has appeared in such peer-reviewed journals as Chest, the American Journal of Physiology, Lancet, Circulation, the Annals of Internal Medicine and the Journal of the American Medical Association.

His research interests include the role of endothelial dysfunction in pulmonary hypertension, and new therapeutic agents for the management of pulmonary vascular diseases. Professor Gaine has served as the Principle Investigator for 30 International clinical trials. He sits on numerous committees and has lectured, extensively, throughout Europe.

 

geraldineProfessor Geraldine McCarthy

Consultant Rheumatologist 

MD, FRCPI

Professor McCarthy was appointed Consultant in Rheumatology at the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital, Dublin in 1999 where she runs a busy clinical practice and a clinical research program.

She received her Fellowship in Rheumatology at the Medical College of Wisconsin where she developed her interest in calcium crystal deposition diseases. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine in the specialty of Rheumatology.

Professor McCarthy is also a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians in Ireland and the American College of Rheumatology and a member of the Association of Physicians of Great Britain and Ireland. She teaches as part of the University College Dublin Faculty of Medicine where she has been appointed Clinical Professor of Medicine.

Her clinical practice includes General Rheumatology with a special interest in Gout and other Crystal Deposition Diseases, Inflammatory Arthritis and Degenerative Joint Diseases such as Osteoarthritis.
